Networks Northwest CEO Leaving Organization For Position with MEDC
June 30, 2022
Networks Northwest CEO Matt McCauley is leaving the organization to become the Senior Vice President of Regional Prosperity at the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC). McCauley has been the CEO at Networks Northwest since 2018. He began working there in 2004 and his past positions at the organization have included Chief Operating Officer and Director of Regional Planning.
“My 18 years at the agency have been extremely fulfilling professionally and joy-filled personally,” said McCauley. “I am very proud of the work we have done for our region and the impact on our communities, businesses, and residents. I have had an exceptional working experience with both the board and staff for which I am incredibly grateful. While it is difficult to leave, I know I am leaving Networks Northwest in a strong position - with secure finances, fantastic staff, and a positive trajectory. However, I believe that now is the time to apply the skills and expertise I have honed in this position to other communities throughout our great state- including those in northwest Lower Michigan.”
In his new role with the MEDC, McCauley will oversee various collaborative development efforts to ensure the efficient and effective execution of MEDC strategy. He will lead the proactive engagement with companies and communities to create an environment conducive to business growth and expansion, community and place-based enhancement, and comprehensive economic and community development that is uniquely tailored to each individual region of the state.
“Matt has been a positive leader within Networks Northwest for many years. His new role with MEDC will further grow our regional community and the state as a whole. We wish him continued success and appreciate his efforts to ensure a smooth transition for the agency and the entire region,” said Sue Peters, Chief Human Resources Officer at Munson Healthcare and Chair of the Networks Northwest Board.
McCauley will continue in his role as CEO of Networks Northwest through August, focusing his efforts on assisting the Board with a smooth transition to new leadership.
The professionals at Networks Northwest help our City Council, Planning Commission, and staff make thoughtful decisions to ensure our community is sustainable and resilient for many years to come.
