Mi Farm Market of Ellsworth Shares Michigan Products with the World

When it comes to Michigan-made products, no one knows our state better than the Bruce Family – owners of Mi Farm Market.  Simply step through the doors of their bright red storefront in downtown Ellsworth, MI, and you can find the finest work of over 80 local farmers, artisans and small business owners.  The Bruces have spent years cultivating a collection of the best Michigan products, and they’re sharing them with the world.

Ellsworth residents Ray and Patricia Bruce have a background in supply chain management and gift basket production, their son Scotty has a knack for marketing and e-commerce, and their niece Satin is skilled in accounting.  Together this family team began designing and selling gift baskets of Michigan-made products right out of their garage.  Each basket is full of different specialty products, giving customers the opportunity to send a piece of Michigan anywhere in the world.  As word spread and demand for the gift baskets grew, the Bruces transitioned their business out of their garage and into a combined warehouse, workspace and storefront in Ellsworth.

“We started meeting with the MI-SBTDC almost immediately,” says Scotty.  “They gave us advice on our business plan and helped us locate different food producers in the area to partner with.  We have a great relationship with our counselors and know that they are always looking out for us.”
