Almira Township Master Plan Update Public Hearing Notice

April 2, 2024 at 6:00 pm at Almira Townhall (19639 Maple Street Lake Ann, MI 49650)

Notice is hereby given that the Almira Township Planning Commission has scheduled a
public hearing for the Almira Township Master Plan on April 2, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. The
purpose of this hearing is to take public comment on the Almira Township Master Plan
Update.

A copy of the plan can be viewed by clicking the below cover photo, or following this link. Alternatively, a physical copy may be viewed at the Almira Township Offices during regular business hours. (7276 Ole White Drive, Lake Ann, MI  49650, Monday through Wednesday between 8am to 4pm)

This webpage contains all of the most recent information, resources, and documentation for the Almira Township Master Plan Development Process. A community Master Plan is a policy document that guides land-use decisions and zoning ordinance regulation standards. The document will delve into all aspects of the community from transportation and economic development to rural protection and agriculture.

The development of the AlmiraTownship Master Plan is occurring over a twelve to fourteen-month period from the summer of 2021 until the fall of 2022. The planning process will incorporate public input from surveys, direct contact with residents, and communication at public input sessions to be scheduled during the process timeframe.

The Almira Township Planning Commission is the appointed body that is charged with guiding the Master Plan Process and development of the document. Planning commission meetings are open to the public and residents and visitors are encouraged to attend and participate. Almira Township Public Input Session

The Almira Township Planning Commission with assistance from Networks Northwest hosted a public input session on Thursday, June 23rd, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Almira Township Hall located at 19639 Maple Street Lake Ann, MI 49650. The purpose of this session was to collect input from residents to assist with the development of the Future Land Use Map and goals and objectives to assist the Township in land use and zoning ordinance decision-making. Almira Township 2021 Master Plan Survey Results

The Almira Township Planning Commission has commenced work towards updating the Almira Township Master Plan. This included a survey to help garner public input to assist with shaping goals for the Township to achieve its land-use needs for its residents. The results of this survey can be found here.
