Online Career Profile Cards Provide Information About Local STEM Careers
February 21, 2023
Northern Michigan is host to a wide variety of STEM careers. To help elevate STEM careers in our community, Northwest Michigan Works! partnered with Northwestern Lower MiSTEM Network to create the Career Profile Card project. The project consists of 100+ cards that contain information about local professionals employed in careers with a STEM emphasis, grouped by sector. The cards feature local professionals who share information about their career paths, what they enjoy about their careers, and what advice they have for students and job seekers interested in pursuing a career. Each card also includes information about the core tasks, job outlook, and the salary range in that career.
“Northwest Michigan Works! is excited to continue our collaboration with the MiSTEM Network through the Career Profile Cards project,” said Lisa Schut, Regional Director at Northwest Michigan Works!. “We look forward to getting this valuable information into the hands of students and job seekers throughout the region. Understanding the level of demand for an occupation, credential expectations, and wage range plays a significant role in helping people decide which career pathways to consider and pursue.”
The Career Profile Cards are available on the Northwest Michigan Works! website at nwm.org/CareerProfiles.
To add a career from your life or business submit an application on the Northwestern Lower MiSTEM Network Career Profile Page located on the Resources page of the Educators section of the MiSTEM Network website at mistemregion13.com.
Networks Northwest always proves to be a valued resource for our local government planning efforts. No organization does a better job of convening partners, promoting collaboration, and reporting on the data than does Networks Northwest
